A.M. Workout 06/11/13 - It was almost a QUIT day!

Yep I said it and you read it ... it was almost a quit day! My gosh it was HOT AS HAITI outside but I did not want to work out inside today. I hadn't gone to the bridges in only GOD knows how long so today had to be the day! There was no exception! I did, however, have all types of reservations once I stepped outside. It was already in the 80's in the 9 o'clock hour ... a.m. that is. *wipes sweat from forehead. Do you see this?

I had not even made it to the bridges, this was on my way. So if I am sweating PROFUSELY like this before I actually started to work out what on earth was I was to expect once I started. Yes I was well fortified and hydrated prior to my walk but when the mind starts going in the opposite direction of your intentions ... well ...

We so often let our minds over rule what our heart desires, we have to stop that! We won't get anywhere in life that way.

PRE WORK OUT MEAL: yogurt w/ granola, grapefruit, handful of almonds and high quality H2O!

I decided today I was not going to do 2 laps as usual but how was I to make that work? I know to get to the opposite side of the Acosta bridge meant I had to come back, which was more work than my mind wanted my body to do today, so I took a new route. I started with the Riverwalk, up across the cat walk, down behind the YMCA so that I could hit the street and start on that side of the bridge. I have to admit, I may do that more often. The scenery was really nice and aside from the stench of urine from the transients it was a pretty nice walk. I used that to warm up before hitting the bridges and once I reached the Acosta IT WAS GO TIME! After 40 inclined push-ups, Chris Brown's TURN UP THE MUSIC and I took off! I am ever so thankful to the ALMIGHTY FATHER for providing HIS awesome breath of life and that fantastic breeze that kept me cool and pushing forward. Every time I felt like I wanted to stop it seemed my FATHER would kick that breeze up a notch, almost like a nudge and you'd best believe I kept it moving! Once I arrived back at the Landing I did 30 more inclined push-ups for a total of 70. I cut myself short by 10 but I will make up for that at some point.

I've said it before and I'll say it several times after this ... I LOVE WORKING OUT OUTSIDE! Look at my views as I walk, nothing but pure beauty surrounds me. This is why I can't be a gym rat, the views there are nice sometimes but outside my views are nice ALL THE TIME!! Only thing missing from my walk today were dolphins.

Upon my arrival home a little core work was put in: 80 crunches, 60 bicycles, 40 leg raises and 20 straight leg ankle touch crunches <~~~~ those are new and the only appeared in ONE set, they take some getting used to. I was sweating just as hard after these 2 sets as I was when I was walking ... MY GOSH!

Once I finished and stretched I prepared one of my favorite Vi shakes: POST WORK OUT MEAL: handful of almonds, Blueberry Pomegranate mixed berry w/ a handful of mixed spinach/kale ViShake and more high quality H2O. This ended up being an awesome work out after all and I am so glad that I decided ignore my thoughts.

VILIFE ... whose ready to shake the weight away? Join me if you are up to the challenge!

  1. I loooooove your determination, strength and motivation! Yes! I'm stoked you're on here!

I'm also very happy that I wasn't the only gal out there who "ALMOST had a quit day." I fought my way through a brutal four miles today and all I wanted to do was stop, but I forced myself to keep going and my shirt is juuuust starting to dry from all the fat I "cried out" of my body today.

Feels good being a beast and pushing our minds and bodies to the max, eh?

    You rock!!!!
